Remove your foundation this summer with these SPF moisturizers that smooth your skin

Hot: Applying foundation in summer can be a high requirement. Sweat and bold makeup don’t quite work out together, and who wants to spend enough time exercising just to sweat an hour later? That’s exactly why I’m currently obsessed with colored sunscreens —they’re lightweight and combine all your moisturizers, SPF, and skincare into one perfect product.

Heather Woolery-Lloyd, M.D., a dermatologist in Miami, says tones sunscreens are a great addition to your makeup bag, as they give you great sun protection, minus the white of some sunscreens. “Most products with SPF are physical blocking agents, which means they have zinc or titanium dioxide,” she says. The reason why they are colored is that zinc and titanium produce white or gray on the skin, so one of the ways to apply a mask is to add a tone so that it is almost the same as your skin color. And you’re turning it almost like a light makeup to [so] you don’t see the gray change. ”

When you apply SPF to your skin, it can lead to dreamy radiant skin — especially if you follow some professional tips. Merrady Wickes, the makeup expert and content and educator at the clean beauty store The Detox Market, noted that mineral sunscreens can sometimes get dry, so she recommends applying them on the oil or balm when it’s still dewy. Pro tip: For uniform perfect coverage, Wickes says pat, never rub.

While these products tend to be perfectly suited to your skin, this is not necessarily always effective for dark skin. Dr. Woolery-Lloyd recommends finding a product with darker shades if you find it still leaving white streaks. Keep looking for our must-have tones sunscreens to use throughout the summer.
